‘Tomcat’ and ‘Washingtons’ star Tom Taylor talks about the life and death of the show’s creator
Tom Taylor’s life was on hold after a fatal car accident that left him paralyzed.
In a rare interview, the actor, 52, says that he was so consumed by the success of the “Tomcat” TV series that he thought he’d be dead by now.
“The first Tomcat episode I ever wrote was for the Tomcat movie,” he told MTV News.
“I wrote the whole thing with a cane.
It was a very painful day.
When I got to the end of it, I realized that this is going to be so much fun for me to do.
I mean, the show is about cats.
Cats are a special breed.”
He was cast in the series’ first episode, but after months of work, he was ready to go on.
“So I thought, OK, I’m going to go back to the drawing board,” he said.
“And then, after two weeks, I started writing another Tomcat, and it was the one where they just killed themselves.
And then I got that job.
I was like, ‘I can’t do this anymore.'”
The actor’s long and troubled history with Tomcat began in 1986, when he appeared on the television series, “The Tomcat Show,” and the show became the top-rated show in the country.
The show had a lasting impact on the entertainment industry.
But, according to Taylor, the series was also very traumatic for his mother.
“I remember my mother screaming in the middle of the night because she was so scared, because we had this really weird thing going on in the family,” he recalled.
“And I was really terrified that I was going to die, and I’m a very strong man.
And so I just kept writing Tomcat until I was done.”
He said that after the series ended, he spent two years recovering in Los Angeles, recovering from his own injury, and returning to the show.
“Tomcat is one of my favorite things to do,” he added.
“It’s like a therapy for my mind.”
After the show ended, Taylor began a new career, which took him to the movies.
In the 1990s, he starred in “Tomatohead,” a comedy starring Mark Wahlberg and Paul Rudd.
He has appeared in a number of movies, including “The Expendables 2,” “The Last Samurai,” and “A Very Harold & Kumar Movie.”
He told MTV that the show, and the characters in it, influenced him as an actor.
“When you see Tomcat the first time, you’re like, Oh, my God, I have never seen Tomcat before,” he continued.
“You think, I can do this.
And when you see the sequel, you think, Oh my God I have no idea what I’m doing.”
